DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:This will be a discussion-based workshop to look at some of the issues and problems associated with negotiating sexual/play consent in the bi/poly/kinky communities. We'll talk about different ways in which consent can be negotiated, why many of our cultural learnings fail us in the negotiation of consent, and address some of the pit falls around consent that are inherent to various aspects of alternative sexuality communities. We'll also share constructive strategies for negotiating consent more clearly and communicating for better consensual relationships.

DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:In this session, speakers from the BiReCon event will feed back to BiCon attendees about how the event went and will take questions about the importance of research and academic writing for the bi community. First, Meg and Christina will present a brief summary of the BiReCon day. After that, keynote speakers from the day (Robyn Ochs, Serena Anderlini D'Onofrio, Eric Anderson, and John Sylla) will take questions about bi research/academia and the bi community. This will be a great place to discuss issues such as the representation of bi people in general sexuality-related research, the ways in which bis are (or are not) involved in asking research questions, the accessibility of research and writing to communities themselves, and pressing issues for future bi research.

Laughter Yoga is a combination of Laughter Exercises with Yogic Breathing (pranayama), so that you increase the amount of oxygen in your body whilst being playful resulting in you feeling more healthy, energised and alive. This actually changes the physiology of your body so that you start to feel happier. It's great fun, a chance to leave all the stresses of everyday behind and just be as playful and childlike as one wants! It has masses of health benefits, acts as an internal jog, boosts the immume system, relaxes the body, reduces stress and tension, tones muscles and improves respiration and blood cirulation to name but a few! It is a great team building tool, unleashes inhibitions and breaks down barriers! It encourages positive thinking and creativity and releases endorphins to make you feel wonderful!

DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:People often find it difficult to imagine themselves becoming old. When we do think about our own ageing, we draw on both positive and negative images from the cultural resources around us (people we know, films and books, the media). However, there aren't many representations of bisexual older people. What might bisexual later lives look like? In this workshop, we'll use creative techniques to think about this and to imagine our own later lives. This is a data-gathering session for a research project looking at how bisexual people imagine their futures. The session will be recorded and anonymised information collected. This workshop is open to people who want to think about their own ageing and later life - it doesn't matter whether you're expecting to live for another 5 years or another 55. It is designed for people who identify as bisexual, but people identifying in other ways are also welcome. Attendance is limited to about 12 people (otherwise I'll run out of scissors and glue).

You may remember her hugely popular Tantra workshops, her passion for life and that she fell in love with Olaf, a Dutch BiCon regular of uncountable years. Isabelle loved The Naked Lunch, and we felt it was the perfect place to celebrate this aspect of her life. Even if you never met Isabelle, come and find out who you missed. There will be some photo-books of her life to reminisce about. The Naked Wake is being held with The Naked Lunch, so if you don't want to be involved, please come anyway. As usual with The Naked Lunch its a social get together for people who enjoy nudity. Bring your sandwiches and chill out with other like minded people. Because it is also a Naked Wake: Cake and DRINKS will also be provided. Lots of chill out space. Clothes optional but there will be full nudity. Over 16's only.

DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Imagine that you needed to learn how to swim- that swimming is going to be one of the most important skills you'l need to navigate through your adult life. But instead of anybody sitting you down and teaching you how to swim, you can learn about it from books, slideshows, rumors you hear, or what you see on television and movies. You might hear people swimming over the fence next door. Every now and then you might jump into the water and try to keep yourself from drowning. This generally how we teach people how to have and sustain relationships in their lives. 'Our Whole Lives' is a comprehensive sexuality education programme that offers age appropriate curriculum from age 5 to 99 and approaches sexuality and relationships from a wholistic point of view. It goes deeper than traditional sex ed and examines issues of gender identity, sexuality, commucation, boundaries and learning to embrace the joy and pleasure of sexual relationships without judgement or shame. Come sample some of the experiental learning of this amazing curriculum and learn the importance of making such curricum more widely available.

DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Some people think that all bisexuals must want sex with all genders all of the time, so where does that leave the monogamous bisexual? This is a structured, safe discussion, session space for people who currently identify as or are practicing monogamy. We will cover the real and perceived challenges of monogamy in relation to bisexuality and bi space.

DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Have a profile on the internet? Stuck looking for photos to use? Tired of using the same photos over and over? Many of us find ourselves wanting images to use for the internet, whether it's a serious face shot for linkedin or a CV hosting site, a cool image to represent ourselves for Live Journal, a sexy attractive shot for OK Cupid, or a sexy anonymous shot that won't be recognisable for (ahem) other kinds of dating sites. And many of us don't have the right kind of pictures readily sitting on our hard drive. This session will talk through the dos and don'ts of putting pictures up on line, touching on privacy issues and other ethical dilemmas before moving on to looking at what actually makes a good piccie to use in various contexts... So... Bring your digital camera. Bring one item that defines you (or just that you are fond of) ... a musical instrument you play, a craft item you made, a favourite book you read, anything that takes your fancy. Bring yourself. We'll get clicking, and next time you won't be stuck for the right pose! While there will be trained photographers present the emphasis here is on looking at developing our own skills. We will be finding the inner great photographer in all of us. This is a photography workshop BUT THE BiCon guidelines still apply! No photoing of others without their explicit consent, no posting photos on line of other people without their express say so, etc.

DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:In order to use books, articles, webpages about bisexual matters you have to know where and how to access them. Although there are a lot of materials in different languages available, often they are not known to everybody who might be interested.
We will discuss bibliography and references to books, articles, series and libraries as well as websites rich of reference information and results and methods for searching the web. First we have to get a picture about what exists and how it could be used and then we can think about what can be improved like making simple connections between existing systems.
This workshop is not meant to do the job but just for bringing together the people who might be interested in the work and adjust and merge our individual pictures of the situation. After the conference we will then come together on the web and plan our activities.

DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The bi community and especially BiCon has always prided itself on being a space where anything could be talked about, even if it was in terms of that is 'abusive and wrong'. SM rights is an area that was pioneered by the Bi community and especially BiCon. We have many workshops over the years on highly contentious issue's. But as we get bigger and older are we also becoming censorious? Will censorship be used to cover indiscretions of our 'leaders', will some people be banned from attending because they don't act within our norms? As we increasingly present a professional face to the outside world are we going to go down the same route as so many LGBT organisations where uncomfortable ideas are excluded because they make our 'customers' 'unsafe' and 'insecure'. Is this what we want the bisexual community to be? What can we not talk about? Can we be professional and inclusive or does professional mean socially acceptable/conservative? What about the issues of safety and exclusion? I don't have any answers only questions, I would like to hear yours.
